Today is International Women’s Day and what better day to promote the amazing women of Italy (and all around the world) than in this week’s blog.
Italian women are known to be confident, loving, and strong. Just like all women, they are amazing mother’s, attentive friends, and fun company. Below are some of the many traits Italian women have and why they are amazing!
1. Love and care
Growing up, I have been surrounded by loving Italian women who are famed for their abundant cooking, fierce ambition for their children and warm embrace for anyone invited to the family home. Italian women are not afraid to show their love and care for others and go above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable and content.

2. Clean freaks!
From a young age, I have seen my mother, grandmothers, aunties, and older cousins all act the same way…. Clean freaks!!!! Waking up to the sound of a vacuum hitting my door, never leaving the house in dirty clothes, scrubbing the kitchen sink until it’s back to the original brand-new condition… the list goes on. From a very young age, a clean space has been drilled into my brain. However, it is true! A clean house, fresh sheets, ironed clothes…. all of it makes me feel content. A clean space is a clean mind!

3. A stylish wardrobe!
A common misconception is that to look classy and stylish, you must have designer items. Don’t get me wrong, it is nice to have a few staple pieces here and there… but it is not a necessity! Italian women are known for taking pride in their appearance. Accessories, coats, shoes, clothes.. the list goes on. Find a few nice staples for your wardrobe and wear them more than once… because who cares! A stylish outfit, fresh hair and nice perfume is essential! Looking your best makes you feel your best.. and who doesn’t want that?

4. Build and maintain strong friendships.
Family doesn’t have to always be blood related. Close friends are practically family to Italian’s, and it is important to maintain and cherish these relationships. Be attentive, comforting, loving and respectful. Friendships shouldn’t be forced, and sometimes you don’t need to see them all the time. In some cases, the best friendships are those that can pick up where it was last left off and enjoy every moment with!

5. Eat good food and make memories!
The key to life is good food and memories to look back on and smile at. Enjoy life to its fullest, drink a glass of wine, have a nice plate of pasta, and take photos with those you love! Life is too short to dwell! Eat with friends and family, talk about anything and be in the moment!

6. When packing for a trip – always bring more!
Most women are known for overpacking whenever there is a vacation coming up. Once again, these sorts of things have been instilled in me since I was little. Whenever I went somewhere, I had to bring more than I needed. As a 6 year old with a small handbag, it was a daily task to fill the bag up with everything I could find.. because you never know if you will need it! Yes this might be a bit problematic at the airport when they weigh your luggage, however, you will always be prepared for anything. Whatever quantities you begin with, double it.. because you never know!

The list could go on… but these are some of my personal favourites. All women from every country, religion, age and upbringing are amazing and not just today, but every day, we should shed light on all women in our lives.
Happy International Women’s Day to all women in our lives, thank you for all you do for us, thank you for making life possible and being an inspiration to all of us.
Love,
La Dolce Label
